Pack your own Emergency Kit for your student's classroom:   

Container:

  • Use a 1 gallon zip-lock bag
    • All items must fit inside the bag with the zipper closed
  • Ensure all items you put in the kit have an expiration beyond 06/2018
  • Label the bag with your child's name, teacher and date

 

Drinks/food/snacks:

  • Only include non-perishable items (all items are stored at room temperature)
  • Only include easy open plastic or cans (no glass or boxes)
  • Food should be something your child would normally eat at home
  • Ideas include: bottled water, canned juice, cheese & cracker packs, gummy fruit snacks, granola bars, dried fruit, jerky
    • *Please do not include nuts (tree nuts or peanuts). If any of your child's classmates has a severe food allergy, emergency personnel may not be available to help them.

 

Survival/comfort gear:

  • Include a chemical light stick or small flashlight with fresh batteries
  • Hand warmer packs
  • Small shareable games, such as a deck of cards
  • A letter of comfort from your family and family photo. Let your child you will be there to get them as soon as you can.
